A well-established and reputable multi-disciplinary engineering and project management organization specializing in innovative solutions for the mining industry is seeking a highly capable Project Manager with deep experience in shaft-related projects. This is a contract position based in the Gauteng North area.
As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for the comprehensive management of assigned project packages, ensuring their safe, timely, and cost-effective delivery to the highest quality standards. This role demands a proactive and detail-oriented individual with proven leadership skills and a strong understanding of the complexities within the mining environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Overseeing the complete technical lifecycle of assigned construction and supply packages, from design and procurement through to successful delivery.
• Ensuring adherence to all relevant standards and procedures.
• Managing project and/or package contracts, including primary client contracts, in strict accordance with contractual conditions.
• Leading and chairing weekly project technical and/or construction progress meetings, ensuring accurate record-keeping and timely distribution of minutes.
• Communicating critical project information to all relevant stakeholders in a timely and transparent manner, highlighting progress and challenges.
• Implementing and ensuring full compliance with the established quality management system.
• Serving as the primary point of contact for internal controls and comprehensive client reporting.
• Invoicing services rendered to the client.
• Actively supporting behavioral-based safety policies and demonstrating leadership in promoting SHE best practices.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering. (BEng/BSc/BTech)
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
• Government Certificate of Competency (GCC) – Mines and Works.
• 10+ years of Project Management or Construction Management experience within an EPCM (Engineering, Procurement, Construction Management) environment, specifically focused on mining projects.
• 8+ years of operational experience within a coal mine environment.
• Experience with surveys and pre- and post-inspections.
• In-depth knowledge and understanding of Mine Health and Safety Act (MHSA) and Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) regulations.
