Electrical Engineer Full Time

A leading multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy is seeking a qualified and experienced Professionally Registered Electrical Engineer / Technologist to join its EC&I Engineering Division in Durban. This role offers the opportunity to work on industrial and infrastructure projects in both the private and government sectors, with exposure to challenging assignments across South Africa and into Africa.

Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver electrical engineering design and project activities across industrial and infrastructure projects.
• Ensure engineering designs align with relevant codes, standards, and project specifications.
• Review technical documentation and define project-specific electrical requirements.
• Prepare professional engineering reports, specifications, and client presentations.
• Perform feasibility studies and electrical power system studies.
• Participate in factory acceptance tests and vendor documentation reviews.
• Oversee installation and commissioning of electrical equipment and systems.
• Manage quality, risk, financial performance, scope, and client relationships.
• Represent the company professionally at client and project meetings.

Minimum Requirements:
• BEng/BSc or BTech in Electrical Engineering.
• 7–10 years’ experience in industrial and infrastructure projects (private and government sectors).
• ECSA registration as a Professional Engineer (PrEng) or Professional Technologist (PrTechEng).
• Experience with greenfield and brownfield plant design and construction.
• Exposure to renewable energy and sustainability projects would be advantageous.
• Familiarity with contract frameworks such as FIDIC, NEC, or JBCC.
• AutoCAD / Revit MEP (or similar) for layouts and schematics.
• MS Project, MS Excel, and MS Word.
• DigSilent / ETAP for loadflow and fault study modelling (advantageous).
