Estimating Quantity Surveyor Full Time

A well-established construction company is looking for an experienced Estimating Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Cape Town. This is a key role focused on the pre-construction and tendering phase of building projects, requiring strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and extensive knowledge of construction costs and procurement.

Minimum Requirements:
• 10+ years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor, with a strong focus on estimating and tendering.
• Proven experience working on building projects (commercial, residential, mixed-use, etc.).
• In-depth knowledge of construction methods, materials, and pricing.
• Strong understanding of contractual and procurement processes.
• Proficient in industry-standard estimating and measurement software.
• Excellent numerical, analytical, and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare accurate cost estimates and bills of quantities for building tenders.
• Analyse drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive estimates.
• Obtain and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Work closely with the pre-construction and project management teams to finalise tender submissions.
• Identify cost risks and opportunities to improve project profitability.
• Maintain an up-to-date database of material and labour costs.
