Surgical & Emergency Unit Manager Full Time

Our client is seeking an experienced Unit Manager to lead the Surgical and Emergency Units at a private hospital in the Eastern Cape. This opportunity is ideal for a dynamic nursing leader with strong clinical expertise, excellent leadership abilities, and a passion for delivering outstanding patient care while driving operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:
• Provide effective leadership and operational management of the Surgical and Emergency Units
• Ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care in accordance with clinical standards
• Lead, mentor, and develop the nursing team to achieve optimal performance
• Coordinate patient care and promote effective multidisciplinary collaboration
• Monitor clinical governance, infection prevention, and quality improvement initiatives
• Assist with financial, stock, and resource management within the units
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, legislation, and professional standards

Minimum Requirements:
• Degree or Diploma in Nursing
• Postgraduate Diploma or Degree in Emergency Nursing (mandatory)
• Current registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC)
• Relevant nursing experience to meet the critical outputs of the role
• Proven leadership and people management skills will be advantageous
• Basic understanding of labour legislation, financial management, and supply chain management principles
• Understanding of the private healthcare industry, its challenges, and key role players will be advantageous
• Computer proficiency
• Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel
