Resident Engineer Full Time

A leading infrastructure development project is urgently seeking a Resident Engineer / Construction Manager with over 10 years of experience to join the team on a key project based in Johannesburg. This is a senior-level contract role with the possibility of extension, and our client is open to appointing either individuals or service providers (ESPs) under an SLA agreement.

Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee on-site construction activities, ensuring compliance with design specifications and project standards.
• Monitor progress, quality, and safety across all construction phases.
• Manage contractor performance and address technical challenges proactively.
• Liaise with engineers, consultants, and other stakeholders to ensure project alignment.
• Prepare and review reports, including progress, quality assurance, and incident documentation.

Minimum Requirements:
• Minimum 10 years’ relevant experience in civil infrastructure, preferably in water and sanitation projects such as reservoirs, pipelines, pump stations, and water-retaining structures.
• A Bachelor’s degree (B.Eng. / B.Sc. Eng), B.Tech. Eng, or National Diploma in a relevant engineering discipline.
• Registered with ECSA or SACPCMP.
• Labour-Intensive Construction qualification (NQF Level 5 or 7) is advantageous.
• Strong technical knowledge and ability to manage construction sites independently.
