Quantity Surveyor Full Time

Our client is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Quantity Surveyor to join their Cape Town team. This opportunity is suited to a motivated professional with solid construction and engineering experience, strong commercial awareness, and the ability to manage cost and contractual matters in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare monthly payment certificates, including variations and claims
• Compile monthly cost reports, cash flows, budgets, and forecasts
• Monitor project costs and implement effective cost-control measures
• Ensure contractual procedures and company processes are followed
• Conduct risk and value management activities
• Advise on procurement strategies
• Prepare tender and contract documentation, including bills of quantities
• Evaluate and negotiate variations, extension of time claims, and contractual entitlements
• Manage subcontractor commercial matters
• Monitor financial performance, cost forecasting, and cash flow
• Allocate work, review outputs, and mentor junior team members

Requirements:
• National Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying
• Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience within the construction or engineering environment
• Experience within a medium to large construction company will be advantageous
• Proven experience in financial reporting, cost forecasting, and cash management
• Strong contractual and commercial knowledge
• Experience with CCS is essential
• Sound working knowledge of GCC, FIDIC, JBCC and/or NEC contracts
• Understanding of health and safety requirements within construction
• Valid driver’s licence and own vehicle will be advantageous
• Strong communication, organisational, and analytical skills
• Ability to work independently and effectively under pressure
