Pavement/Materials Engineer Full Time

Our client is on the hunt for a Transport Engineer (Pavement & Road Design) to take the wheel on high-impact transport infrastructure projects based in Pretoria. What You’ll Be Doing:
You’ll provide expert engineering input across the full project lifecycle—contributing to designs, leading construction monitoring, and managing multi-disciplinary project teams. Expect to work on urban and rural roads, from initial visual assessments and pavement investigations through to detailed design and rehabilitation.

Key responsibilities include:
• Conducting pavement assessments, traffic loading analysis, and surfacing design
• Designing asphalt surfacing, bituminous seals, and both flexible and rigid pavements
• Supporting tender and procurement processes through to site handover
• Managing safety, quality, timelines, and budget across multiple transport projects
• Building strong relationships with clients, contributing to business development

What You Bring:
• Solid experience in pavement and road design (including visual assessments and rehabilitation methods)
• Strong understanding of South African road design standards and materials
• Project management skills and the ability to work cross-functionally with diverse teams
• Excellent client-facing and stakeholder engagement abilities
• Passion for mentoring and developing future engineers
