Are you a senior water specialist with a passion for leadership, innovation, and environmental sustainability? A leading environmental and sustainability consultancy is seeking a Divisional Manager: Water Services to lead and grow its water services division. This is a strategic leadership opportunity for someone who thrives on driving technical excellence, building high-performing teams, and delivering impactful solutions across groundwater, numerical modelling, and related disciplines.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide strategic direction and growth planning for the Water Services division.
• Lead and manage multidisciplinary teams in groundwater, surface water, geochemistry, geophysics, and numerical modelling.
• Oversee technical delivery of projects, ensuring alignment with timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
• Act as key account manager for designated clients, building long-term relationships and identifying new opportunities.
• Drive financial performance through budgeting, forecasting, and divisional reporting.
• Lead workforce planning, team development, performance management, and succession planning.
• Ensure the implementation and continual improvement of the division’s quality management systems.
• Identify and pursue cross-selling and up-selling opportunities across service lines.
• Stay informed on industry developments, legal changes, and technological advancements.
Ideal Candidate Profile
• Strong technical background in hydrogeology, water science, or hydrology.
• Proven experience with numerical modelling and groundwater assessments.
• A minimum of 10 years’ experience in the water services or environmental sector, with consulting experience being highly beneficial.
• At least 5 years’ leadership or management experience, including managing technical teams and/or senior professionals.
• Experience working within or supporting the mining industry is advantageous.
• A track record of delivering high-quality, multidisciplinary projects in line with client expectations.
Qualifications & Professional Registration
• Postgraduate degree in Hydrogeology, Water Science, Hydrology, or a related discipline.
• Professional registration (e.g., SACNASP) is required.
• Project Management certification and/or completion of a Management Development Programme (MDP) will be an advantage.
