Traffic and Transport Engineer Full Time

A leading consultancy in the infrastructure and transport sector is looking for a skilled Traffic and Transport Engineer to join their team in either Cape Town or Gauteng. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced professional to work on a wide range of transport planning, traffic engineering, and infrastructure projects across South Africa.

Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct traffic impact and feasibility studies
• Perform transport modelling and data analysis
• Develop and review geometric road designs
• Prepare traffic engineering reports and technical documentation
• Liaise with municipal and provincial transport authorities
• Support project planning, cost estimation, and scheduling
• Provide input into transport infrastructure design and safety assessments

Requirements:
• BEng or BSc in Civil Engineering
• 5–10 years’ relevant experience in traffic and transportation engineering
• Proficiency in traffic modelling software (e.g. SIDRA, VISSIM, SATURN, etc.)
• Strong understanding of transport planning policies and design standards
• Experience with road geometric design will be advantageous
• Excellent communication and report writing skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
