Power Systems Consultant Full Time

Our client is a specialist energy consultancy fuelled by dedicated power system experts, they bring extensive experience to a diverse range of power generation projects. They are known to partner with leading renewable energy developers, offering you the chance to work on impactful technical, strategic, and regulatory projects.

As a Power System Consultant, you will be instrumental in:
• Conducting in-depth grid impact and grid code compliance studies for vital power generation projects.
• Performing meticulous power quality assessments and investigations.
• Contributing to the planning and development of robust transmission and distribution networks.
• Taking ownership of project management, including financial and resource allocation.
• Nurturing strong relationships with existing clients and proactively engaging new opportunities.

Requirements:
• A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Mechatronic Engineering (or equivalent).
• A strong understanding and ability to interpret typical substation primary and secondary/control plant design drawings.
• 2+ years’ experience in network modelling and analysis using DIgSILENT PowerFactory (experience with PSS/E, ETAP, or other similar software will also be considered).
• Demonstrated experience in performing grid code compliance studies, grid impact studies, and/or network planning studies.
• Solid knowledge of the South African transmission and distribution systems, the South
• African Grid Code, and current industry trends.

Added bonus:
• A Postgraduate degree (Masters or higher) in engineering and registration (or actively working towards registration) with ECSA as a Professional Engineer.
• Proficiency in data analysis using tools like Excel, Python, or similar.
