Mechanical Engineer Full Time

Our client is seeking an experienced and professionally registered Mechanical Engineer to join their Cape Town team. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong engineer with proven building services design experience who can lead projects, mentor junior staff, and manage multiple projects independently.

Key Responsibilities:
• Lead and manage mechanical engineering projects from design through to completion
• Provide technical and design leadership to deliver innovative and practical engineering solutions
• Independently manage multiple projects while working closely with senior management
• Oversee project quality, compliance, budgets, and programme requirements
• Design and coordinate air-conditioning and ventilation, wet services, and fire-fighting systems
• Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors, and other project stakeholders
• Mentor and guide junior engineers and support their professional development
• Attend project sites and client meetings as required

Requirements:
• BTech, BEng, or BSc in Mechanical Engineering
• Minimum of 8 years’ project design and site experience in mechanical engineering
• Proven building services design experience, including HVAC, wet services, and fire-fighting systems
• Professionally registered with ECSA as a Professional Engineer
• Expert proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD
• Demonstrated ability to lead engineering design activities from project inception to completion
• Proven experience managing multiple projects independently
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills
• Strong organisational and time management abilities
• Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and work effectively under deadlines
• Valid driver’s licence; own vehicle will be advantageous
• Willingness to travel for site visits and client meetings
