Candidate Quantity Surveyor Full Time

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Candidate Quantity Surveyor, registered with the South African Council for the Quantity Surveying Profession (SACQSP), to join our dynamic client’s team. This role offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience while working under the mentorship of a Professional Quantity Surveyor, as part of a structured training and development program.

Key Responsibilities:
• Assist with the preparation of cost estimates, feasibility studies, and cost plans.
• Carry out measurement of quantities and assist in preparing Bills of Quantities (BoQs).
• Support in tender documentation, evaluation, and adjudication processes.
• Assist with cost control and contract administration, including variation orders.
• Prepare progress payment claims and assist with final accounts.
• Conduct site visits to monitor progress and ensure alignment with budgets.
• Maintain project records in line with company and statutory requirements.
• Identify and communicate potential business development opportunities.
• Participate in training, workshops, and seminars as part of ongoing professional development.
• Support the implementation and compliance with SACQSP’s Continuing Professional Development (CPD) requirements.

Qualifications & Skills:
• BSc Honours in Quantity Surveying from a recognised South African institution.
• Registration with SACQSP as a Candidate Quantity Surveyor.
• Strong numerical, analytical, and communication skills (English proficiency essential).
• Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Experience with Quantity Surveying software such as WinQS and DimX (advantageous).
• Valid driver’s licence and own transport (preferred).
